Kyle Deming
A graduate of the George Brown Chef School, Kyle Deming has over 25 years’ experience in some of the best restaurants in the Greater Toronto Area. Kyle also has international experience, having spent six years in Scotland, where he met his wife Lorraine and was sous chef at Stravaigin, one of the top restaurants in Glasgow.

Upon returning to Toronto in 2004, Kyle landed at Starfish Oyster Bed & Grill, where he became Head Chef. When Starfish proprietor Patrick McMurray turned his sights towards opening the Irish gastro-pub “The Ceili Cottage” in 2009, Kyle also managed the menu and food services for “The Cottage” ) before departing to open Sausage Partners in 2011.

Kyle’s approach as a chef is to keep dishes simple but well considered, using a short list of the freshest local ingredients to showcase the natural flavour of the dish. He now brings this philosophy to Sausage Partners, sourcing the best in locally raised pork, beef and poultry products for your kitchen table.

Lorraine Deming
Born in Canada but raised in rural Scotland, Lorraine’s love of fresh local food goes back as long as she can remember. All of the meat she consumed were raised by local farmers and sold by family run butcher shops. Free-range and grass-fed products were the norm as she walked, biked, or drove every day past hundreds of cows and sheep out in fields penned in by nothing but a cattle grid.

Drawn by her love of food, Lorraine began working in restaurants in Glasgow to help pay her way through school, which is where she met Kyle and quickly realized she preferred restaurants to lab work. Upon returning to Canada in 2004, Lorraine worked in restaurant management and attained her Sommelier’s Certificate, before taking time off to raise her daughter Lilly.

With Sausage Partners, Lorraine has come full circle, bringing to Leslieville a traditional ‘general store’ inspired by her grandma’s kitchen and the local butchers of her youth. Lorraine’s home-style cooking is featured prominently in the prepared food offerings at the shop, including pot pies, lasagnas, preserves, meat balls, and of course her award winning sticky-toffee pudding.

Lorraine can be reached at 416-778-6328 (MEAT) or shop@sausagepartners.com.
